Meet Ely Pisec: RN at Howick Views

Ely, whose full name is Eillenger Tico Pisec Sr., comes from the Cordillera region in the Philippines. He is a proud member of the Kankana-ey and Ibaloi tribes, a heritage that remains close to his heart. His academic journey includes a bachelor’s degree in Biology, medical studies, and coursework in secondary education.
Outside of work, Ely is an adventurer. He enjoys biking, trekking, and swimming in his free time. He also has a passion for food and loves trying different cuisines. Since moving to Aotearoa, he has been drawn to the richness of Māori culture, which resonates with his own tribal background. The welcoming nature of the people and the familiar beauty of the landscapes have made his transition smooth.
Ely’s first weeks at HBH have been enjoyable, thanks to the friendly and supportive environment. He feels privileged to care for residents, especially centenarians, and values the meaningful conversations he shares with them. His respect for their wisdom and life experiences makes his work even more rewarding.
Beyond nursing, Ely has some unexpected skills. He is a trained welder and occasionally works as a boxing announcer. If you ever tune into a match, you just might hear his voice.
We’re thrilled to have Ely as part of the HBH team. Join us in giving him a warm welcome!
