HBH Senior Living Gulf Views is a 45-room rest home with a dedicated respite room, offering a serene and supportive environment that overlooks the Hauraki Gulf. With beautiful gardens, modern facilities and a family-oriented approach, Gulf Views provides quality care close to Howick Beach and Howick Village, where residents can enjoy cafés, restaurants, a supermarket and specialty shops.
Comfortable and Personal Spaces
Our rest home features a spacious lounge for community gatherings alongside smaller, cosy areas ideal for private visits with family and friends. The conservatory, complete with tea-making facilities, is a popular spot for afternoon tea and quiet relaxation. Most rooms include shared ensuite bathrooms with conveniently located facilities, and each room is centrally heated with individual thermostat controls. Residents are welcome to personalise their space by bringing their own furniture to truly make it feel like home.
In line with our mission to provide affordable homes and quality care for older people, almost all rooms at Gulf Views are standard rooms with no extra cost beyond the government fee. Our family-focused approach ensures that every resident feels connected, supported, and truly at home.
History and Community Spirit
Established in 1991 by local resident Scotch Macdonald in memory of his wife Annette, Gulf Views was acquired by HBH in 2021. Despite the change in ownership, the home has maintained its warm, close-knit atmosphere and continues to deliver excellent care that supports residents in living independently, actively and with purpose.
Engaging Activities and Comprehensive Care
Life at Gulf Views is enriched with a variety of activities and social opportunities. Residents enjoy outings such as visits to the RSA and group lunches, ensuring there’s always something to look forward to.
Health and wellbeing are prioritised at Gulf Views. A hairdresser is on site two to three days a week, an occupational therapist visits monthly and as required, and a podiatrist and doctor are on call.
For those who enjoy a touch of nature, residents may keep fish or birds in their rooms, adding to the home-like ambience.
Gulf Views is managed by HBH Group, a leader in delivering high-quality care and one of the few fully registered Eden Alternative homes in Auckland. Our commitment to high standards is reflected in every aspect of our service, ensuring residents receive personalised care in a nurturing environment.
