High-quality, holistic care for all seniors
As a charity that’s committed to supporting older people, we give back by helping seniors in our community to age well and live fully
What makes HBH different?
Ageing well means caring well
To age well and live fully, we believe seniors need more than basic care. They required a holistic approach that nurtures all aspects of their wellbeing – physical emotional, mental, social, spiritual, cultural and financial. At HBH, every individual is valued and receives the personalised care they truly deserve.

Howick’s only charitable aged care provider
Since 1977, we’ve supported older people in Howick, not only in our villages, but also in the wider community. Our charitable status means we can focus on giving back and investing in delivering high-quality aged care.
A holistic approach to ageing well
HBH is one of only two certified Eden Alternative providers in Auckland, a philosophy of care that puts residents at the centre of everything we do. Our in-house social worker supports those transitioning into care, while our chaplain offers spiritual guidance to our residents and families.
Care that goes well beyond the basics
At HBH, we do so much more than meeting basic needs: we care when it matters most, including delivering complex and palliative care with skill and compassion. We’re also one of few aged care providers offering an in-house gym, trained physiologist and occupational therapist.
Residential and community-based care options
We offer so much more than bricks and mortar. HBH is the only aged care provider in East Auckland offering a weekly Day Programme, advanced respite care bookings, and Virtual Village East, a unique social and support network for seniors living independently at home.
Wellbeing scores that continue to improve
Every year, we survey our residents to measure their satisfaction and wellbeing levels. This year alone, over 88% of residents reported feeling satisfied with their care, while 60% reported that they never feel lonely – reinforcing the benefits our high-quality care and unique culture.
We care for all seniors, and all faiths
We provide inclusive care without discrimination based on care needs, financial means or personal circumstances, so that every senior we care for receives the support they deserve. What’s more, our chaplain can provide spiritual guidance for people of all faiths and beliefs.
Support for families and caregivers too
We offer a range of resources to keep families informed and involved in their loved one’s care. This includes our monthly Relatively Speaking series, which offers practical advice, fresh insights and connection with other families.
A unique culture of kindness and care
As a charitable organisation, our culture of care extends to our staff too. Our committed staff are known for going above and beyond the call of duty – and for providing kind, compassionate and dignified care to our residents and all those we serve in our community.
